The Mangakahia Sports & Community Complex sits on the corner of Kerehunga and Mangakahia Roads in Poroti — a place where our community connects, celebrates and comes together.

Since opening in 1976, and proudly run by the Mangakahia Sportsground Society, the Complex has grown into a vibrant hub for sport, events and everyday community life.

It’s a space where memories are made — on the fields, in the halls, and across the grounds. From weekend games to milestone celebrations, there’s always something happening here.

Our facilities offer something for everyone. You’ll find a spacious community building with two squash courts, two rugby fields, several junior football fields, a playground with a basketball hoop, and a peaceful walking loop — perfect for a quick reset or a relaxed catch-up.

Planning an event? We’d love to host you. Our venues are available for birthdays, weddings, funerals, meetings, workshops and more. Choose from two welcoming reception lounges with commercial kitchens, or a versatile hall/gymnasium with its own kitchenette. The upstairs lounge also features a licensed bar, ideal for social gatherings.

Local schools and organisations regularly use the Complex for sports days, fitness activities, huis, workshops and all sorts of community events. We love being a place where people can connect, get active, and make great memories together.
