Mangakahia Sports & Community Complex is proud to host our much-loved monthly Community Country Meals. Held on the second Friday of each month (excluding January), with orders from 6.00pm, it’s a wonderful chance to gather, connect, and enjoy a relaxed evening together.
Our Country Meals are all about good food and great company — a perfect opportunity to catch up with neighbours, meet new faces, and spend quality time with family and friends in a welcoming atmosphere.
We keep our menu consistent and our prices as affordable as possible. All main meals are served with chips and your choice of freshly homemade salad, followed by a delicious selection of desserts — all included in the price. Gluten-free and dairy-free options are available; please let us know about any allergies when ordering.
Proceeds from each Country Meal are shared with the local group hosting the evening. This gives them the opportunity to put funds back into our community — whether that’s improving facilities or supporting local initiatives (see the schedule below for upcoming hosts).
We’d love to see you there. Come along, enjoy a hearty meal, and help support our wonderful local community.

Opened in 1976 and run by the Mangakahia Sportsground Society, our Complex has grown into a much-loved gathering place for the whole community. Over the years, it’s become a space where memories are made — on the field, in the halls, and all around the grounds.
Our facilities offer something for everyone. We have a spacious community building with two squash courts, two rugby fields, several junior football fields, a playground with a basketball hoop, and a peaceful walking loop — perfect for a quiet stroll or catching up with a friend.
If you’re planning a special celebration or event, we’d love to host you. Our facilities are available for birthdays, weddings, funerals, meetings, workshops, and more. You can choose from two welcoming reception lounges, both equipped with commercial kitchens, or a versatile hall/gymnasium with its own kitchenette. The upstairs lounge also features a licensed bar, making it a wonderful space for social gatherings.
Whatever the occasion, our Complex is here to bring people together.
