Our biannual Garden Ramble is not that far away… come and join us on 23 November 2025

A unique opportunity to explore a stunning collection of gardens that celebrate nature, creativity, and beauty. From bush paths winding through native trees to vibrant bird havens alive with song, every stop on the ramble offers something special.

Now in its fourth season fundraising for the Mangakahia Sports and Community Complex, you will have the opportunity to view a number of new gardens plus some old favourites in the Mangakahia Valley in Northland just outside of Whangarei.

You’ll be treated to nine beautiful gardens with an abundance of flowers in every style and setting—wander through lush cottage gardens, admire the bold beauty of subtropical plantings, and stroll past thriving commercial flower market beds bursting with colour. Discover the charm of a farm park, that offers pick your own flowers in season, and take in the serene beauty of volcanic landscapes and easy-care gardens designed for modern living.

This year’s ramble features a remarkable variety of vegetable gardens, from productive plots to creative kitchen gardens. Meander through well-established old gardens steeped in character, alongside newer, recently created spaces full of fresh ideas and inspiration. Enjoy lush lawns, a historical house, and the sense of history and innovation growing side by side.

Notes and recommendations:

  • Comfortable walking shoes, a camera, and a love of nature highly recommended.
  • There will be plants for sale at several locations and numerous garden related stalls.
  • Tickets – $30.00, are available from Eventfinda
  • Children under 14 have free entry with a paying adult and must be supervised at all times.
  • Strictly NO animals allowed.

Come meet the owners, gather some garden inspiration, and have a great day out on the 23rd November 2025 in the Mangakahia Valley!

This event is run by the Mangakahia Sports and Community Complex. Funds raised will go towards the maintenance of our building, a facility that benefits all members of our community. For more information on our 2025 Mangakahia Garden Ramble, including featured gardens, please see our Facebook page
